Ashram Operations Manager - Relief Position
Dear Friends,
Recently the Board appointed Patricia Roux to the role of part-time Ashram Operations Manager. The function of this role is to oversee all aspects of the Ashram, and streamline operations, and efficiencies. As Patricia is commencing maternity leave at the beginning of November we are inviting interested applicants to apply for a temporary position to cover some of the duties during this time.
The Position
The aim of the Relief Ashram Operations Manager role is to continue to support and strengthen Ashram operations and improve communication amongst all related Ashram areas with a key focus on Marketing strategy. The position will be managed for 20 hours per week. The Ashram administration will continue to support the AOM in its office management and logistical tasks, as well as the current day to day office functions.
The Relief Ashram Operations Manager will be required to successfully maintain and enhance the Ashram operations, marketing of programs and general communication in the following key areas:

Program Management – source and liaise with Program Coordinators for the varied programs and create new program opportunities, local, national and international.

Review and develop Marketing strategy in all areas of promotion for Sivananda events included within the planner/create Calendar of promotions.

Yoga Classes - maintain liaison with Yoga Teacher Coordinators.

Volunteer Involvement – nurture and identify volunteer roles in the Ashram, providing assistance and guidance where required.

Ashram Board - report regularly to the board and communicate areas of concern.

Stakeholders - encourage relationships amongst the variety of stakeholders such as Chiltern Yoga Trust, local, national and international visiting Yoga Teachers.

Financial Management – liaise with the Treasurer regarding financial matters.
Selection Criteria

Experience in a management role with sound administration skills, ability to be organised, and proactive with good time management and an excellent communicator.

Experience in event management, marketing strategy and understanding of branding.

Effective relationship building capability and an inclusive influencing style will be critical to your success in this role, and will require empathy, curiosity, persistence, humility, and creativity.

Ability to manage multiple stakeholder interfaces, both internally and externally within the Ashram/Beacon Yoga Centre community ie. Administration staff, Ashram residents, Ashram House Manager, Yoga Teachers, Program Coordinators, Ashram members/students, volunteers, external visitors (Swami), IYA Board etc.

Have a keen understanding of yoga and the goals of those on the yogic path.

A good knowledge of Sivananda Ashram, Beacon Yoga Centre and its vision would be an advantage.
