Covid-19 update

Covid-19 January 2022

Sivananda Ashram Beacon Yoga Centre Statement regarding COVID-19.

With the rapidly ever changing dynamic landscape that Coronavirus (COVID-19) has presented us with since its arrival into the global community, our number one priority has always been to ensure the health and safety of our loyal community, partners, teaching faculty and students.

Remaining open for the key onsite activities we provide across the various services and programmes that we have built our reputation and standing on since we opened to the public in 1977 is our primary motivation, and why we are closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19 and following the WA Government's public health guidelines, mandates and restrictions as they apply to us.

Times of crisis often reinforce and exacerbate disparities, division and opinion, and whilst we have now long prepared for the possibility of greater restrictions, it does not mean we as an entity have not been affected by the impositions placed on us, nor the impact and consequences to many in our community.

We are reminded and strengthened by the very nature of the services we offer that we are all in this together and that love, respect and compassion must be extended during these unprecedented times of crisis, uncertainty, fear and restriction, and thus kindly ask you to understand our position and to support our staff, teachers & volunteers who are required to adhere to the mandates and restrictions as they apply to us.

From 31 January 2022 we are required in accordance with the WA Government vaccination requirements announced 13 January 2022 to only permit entry into our Yoga Hall and Ashram Programme to persons who are fully (double dose) vaccinated against Covid-19. We have a team of volunteers working to provide as much of our programme as possible online to anyone unable to attend in person.

To assist with this transition and to minimise inconvenience we request for all patrons who are able to do so to please provide your vaccination certificate or accepted medical contraindication certificate to our office at your earliest possible convenience, in order to be recorded on your patron file in our system prior to your class or visit thereafter.

Accepted proof of vaccination evidence includes the following:

•   COVID-19 Digital Certificate saved to Smartphone

•   Printed Copy of COVID-19 Digital Certificate

•   Printed copy of Immunisation History Statement

•   Australian Immunisation Registry (AIR) - Immunisation Medical Exemption Form (IM011)

Your proof of vaccination will not be shared with any third party, and is only being sought in accordance with the WA Government requirements to permit entry onto our premises from Monday 31 January 2022.

Thank you for your understanding on this matter. We look forward to your continued participation in our programs either online or in person with the certifications.

With Sincerity and Appreciation,

The Ashram Board
