What we offer

Sivananda Ashram

Residential Programme

The Sivananda Ashram Beacon Yoga Centre's spiritual residential programme provides education in the pathways of Integral Yoga, through service, meditation, practice and study.

Working as individuals in a community, a mindful, aware and generous atmosphere is cultivated to support the ongoing process of spiritual opening.

Our Focus

The focus of the program highlights the unique teachings of the IYA founded by Swami Venkatesananda - being the principles of Integral Yoga – jnana, bhakti, karma, raja and hatha yoga. The programme is supported by both secular facillitators and visiting Swami's and teachers. The program is supplemented by retreats from many visiting teachers.

A breadth of teaching drawing from East and West is offered in line with the rich tradition of the Sivananda Ashram. The programme is open to serious persons by application. The programme schedule varies from time to time.

Areas of teaching include: Vedanta, Self-Inquiry, Meditation and Hatha Yoga. Our programme includes a range of DVD"s from many philosophical and religious persuasions "that differences are non-essential on the vital path of truth"; Raja Yoga - the yoga of meditation - complements our hatha yoga practice, and is equated with the Yoga Sutras of Pantajali.

Our founder, Swami Venkatesananda’s extensive writings aim to bring the wisdom of the East to the West and his still modern commentaries and videoed lectures are available. These include commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita - Song of God, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, Raja Yoga, selected Upanishads and much more. All are welcome to read/ purchase/ view our Books, DVDs and CDs.

The Sivananda lineage has provided an immense resource of revealed knowledge in Yoga and Vedanta. The Sivananda Ashram Beacon Yoga Centre here in Perth continues Sivananda's focus to "Serve, Love, Meditate, Realise" through its teaching programmme. It is designed to integrate the teachings and experience of spiritual awakening to most benefit the modern world.
