Chinmaya — the wandering yogi with a voice for devotion. 🌿🧘‍ā™€ļøšŸŽ¶

Born in communist-era Bulgaria, Chinmaya grew up with an unusual gift for that time: a mother who planted the seeds of spirituality early in your life. Those seeds quietly grew into a lifelong path of yoga, philosophy, and devotion.

At 27, life carried her far from Eastern Europe to Perth, Western Australia—not through some rigid plan, but through what you simply call “the path of life.” Today she lives close to that path, working in an ashram, immersed in spiritual community and nature.

Chinmaya is rooted in the Satyananda Yoga tradition, and her guiding teacher is Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati, the spiritual successor of Swami Satyananda Saraswati. This lineage is known for integrating classical yoga, karma yoga, devotion, and practical spirituality in daily life.

After graduating from the Satyananda Yoga Academy NSW, she began teaching at Beacon Yoga Center in 2011, offering her classes as an expression of seva and gratitude to the lineage.

Chinmaya shares yoga as a living practice — not only asanas and techniques, but a way of inner awareness, steadiness, and surrender. Her teaching gently invites students to reconnect with their own inner sacred wisdom.

Since 2015, Chinmaya has served as House Manager of Beacon Yoga Center, caring for the ashram space as a spiritual home for many. As one of the ashram musicians, she offers kirtan with devotion and joy, and she conducts the full moon fire ceremonies, chanting Sanskrit mantras in honour of the ancient tradition. For her, yoga is not something she does — it is the path she lives.
