jasmine pummer

A lifelong yoga practitioner, Jasmine has been formally teaching hatha and restorative yoga since 2013, after completing her Level 1 (350 hour) foundational training with Fremantle Yoga Centre. Jasmine continues to enrich her knowledge and is currently undertaking Iyengar Yoga teacher training under the guidance of Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher, Kellie Brett. She has a strong interest in the cross section of mental health, trauma and yoga and has maintained a steady trajectory towards a specialised skill set in the area of trauma sensitive, therapeutic yoga. She regularly facilitates yoga programmes at local prisons and is in private practice, working with clients that have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and PTSD. Jasmine brings a calm and gentle presence to her work, as well as invaluable lived experience.

What do you hope students experience in your class?

An openness to transformation. Practically, I hope students gain a deeper understanding of asana - whether that's the physical shape, the intelligent use of props, or experiencing a posture in a new way. I'd love for students to move beyond what they thought was possible and begin developing their own practice at home, supporting themselves physically, emotionally and mentally.
