Live-streaming yoga classes.

Thank you to all our yoga students past and present for supporting our Ashram 🙏🌺

With such major adjustments to our daily lives it has been wonderful to see so many of you use our online classes, stepping out of your comfort zone and sending great positive feedback which has been very much appreciated. With limited numbers available in our face-to-face classes we are still offering come classes live-streamed to increase accessibility.

For any students unsure of online classes we would like to assure you that our Online, Live-streamed classes have been made easy for everyone to access. We understand this change can be daunting, however, we encourage you to give it a try and follow our simple steps below.

How to Join an Online Class:

1.  You will need a device with internet connection (laptop, smartphone, iPad/tablet etc.)

2.  Visit our webpage to access our online classes schedule.

3.  Choose your class and register, you will receive a confirmation email. (We recommend booking          your class a minimum of 30 minutes before the start of the class.)

4.  Choose purchase a pass (or use your existing yoga pass).

5.  Set-up your yoga practice space before your class time.

6.  You will automatically receive a link to your class approx. 20 mins before the start time.

7.  For any technical issues, big or small, please contact our Tech Support teachers.

8.  You do not need a Webcam, no need to download zoom app or be trained in Zoom.

It's really that easy!

Tips & help to access live-streaming yoga classes.

Please see below some information regarding booking classes, buying passes and some tips for using this new online platform. If you have any queries at all please email us at info@sivanandaashram.org.au

Online Class Bookings and Tips:

  • Currently our Punchpass system requires a booking and a separate pass purchase to attend a class, this just means two actions instead of one. To book an online class, scroll down on the booking page to view the calendar:

  • If you have not used Zoom before, it is really easy. You will receive an email with a link that will take you directly to your class, once when you register and again approx. 20-30 minutes prior to the start of your class. Zoom is upgrading their security so you may need to enter a password to gain access. This is also included in your email.

  • Your teacher will open the class approx. 20 minutes prior to the class start time and will greet you online like they would a face-to-face class. Prior to the commencement of the class your teacher will automatically mute everyone else in the class. We will have tech support available via the online chat function for the first few weeks. Muting really helps with sound issues, feedback, reverb and other things that can easily spoil your experience.

  • Please turn your camera on by clicking on ‘Start Video’, if you have the available bandwidth to do so. It  is really useful for teachers to be able to see you for a more interactive class. This is not essential and is a personal preference, the choice is yours. You can set your screen to either ‘gallery view’ where you will see lots of participants at the time or ‘speaker view’ to ensure you see your teacher on the larger screen instead of other students.

  • For the first few weeks we will have online tech support available via a chat function. Once your teacher has muted all participants at the commencement of class you will only be able to contact us via the ‘Chat’ function, to access this you will need to click on the Chat button.

  • All of the usual caveats to any physical movement class still apply in the online space as teachers can’t see you in the same way. Please pause, adapt, modify your way through, listening to your body! Do what you need to do for you.

  • Zoom could be a little over loaded at the moment with a lot of traffic. If for whatever reason you have an issue with sound or picture or it drops out, simply close the class window and log back in again. Remember to keep the password handy in case you need it again.
