Gail commenced Hatha Yoga locally in 1989. I loved it so much I wanted to learn more, but never found the right avenue. In 2004 the Annual Bowen Therapy Conference was held in Canberra after which I spent 10 wonderful days at Satyananda Yoga Centre, Gosford NSW attending a meditation retreat, “total bliss”.  Immersed in the Ashram life ie Mouna, Hatha Yoga, Karma Yoga, Relaxation and Meditation renewed my desire to learn more.  A friend travelling the same path at the same time discovered FriendsInYoga and we both enrolled in the next intake and qualified.  Our training was conducted here at this wonderful centre, The Beacon Yoga Centre in the beautiful Yoga Hall which has an atmosphere and feel that you cannot find anywhere!

I was lucky to be given the Monday, 6.30 pm Beginners Class and taught this class from 2006 to April 2021 after which I moved to Friday, 2 pm Community Class.

After carrying out Bowen Therapy CPE for years, I felt the need to fill my Yoga cup.  In 2013 a Diploma in Dru Yoga commenced, qualifying in 2016.  Today I teach a combination of both traditional Yoga and Dru Yoga.  Dru gave me more tools, modifications, wonderful flowing sequences and more knowledge.  Everytime you practice you learn more.

It is a great pleasure to teach at the Beacon, to be part of the fabric of the Beacon, along with some other amazing people and to be part of the light on the hill. Yoga keeps me positive and grounded, helped me overcome a major illness in 2006, I highly recommend some yoga form for strength and stability to everyone.
