The Board on behalf of the entire Beacon Yoga Centre and the IYA community, would like to thank Swami Vishveshananda Ji for his presence, leading morning meditations for the past two months, wonderful silent retreats, yoga lessons, yoga day, evening talks and on three Monday night Parliaments unbelievably lucid talks on Drg Drshya Viveka (Discrimination between the Seer and the Seen).

 

Swami Ji you have been wonderful company and a teacher.

Sivananda Ashram Beacon Yoga Centre

Sivananda Ashram Beacon Yoga Centre invited Swami Vishveshananda (Swami Viswaji) regularly for Yoga and Self-Knowledge classes between 2008 - 2015.   

 

Swami Vishveshananda returns to the Beacon Yoga Centre this year 2024 in September for two months to conduct classes on Yoga and Self-knowledge, Meditation and Chanting. Swamiji is well versed in the teaching of Sanskrit and Kirtan.

 

Swami Vishveshananda is a senior resident teacher at the Uthandi Ashram of the Foundation for Self Knowledge. He is also the Trustee, Admin of Akshar Educational Trust which runs Educational institutions in the Indian states of Tamilnadu and Odisha.

His considerable dedication, experience and multi-disciplinary expertise contributes to his remarkable capacity to disperse the wisdom of Self knowledge across a culturally diverse audience with exceptional success.

 

Swamiji who is fondly addressed as Viswaji brings to the Self Knowledge Foundation with precise accuracy, inspiring enthusiasm and infectious humour, a deep knowledge of Vedanta, Sanskrit, Asana, Pranayama and Vedic chanting. He has a degree in Psychology and a background in Communication, Electronics and can speak fluently six different Indian languages.

 

At the age of 21, he joined the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre, under the direction of Swami Vishnu Devananda a direct disciple of Swami Sivananda. There he engaged in karma yoga, taught and studied to obtain his teachers certification until 1992. For several years, he balanced yogic life with employment. He worked as a Communications Officer in the Merchant Navy and later, as a Marine Electronics Lecturer in Pondicherry.

 

Viswaji studied the ancient scriptures not only under the guidance of his guru Swami Suddhananda but also the world renowned Teacher of Vedanta, Swami Dayananda Saraswati of Coimbatore for five years.

 

Since completion of this training in 1997, Viswaji has himself become an 'Ace' at driving the wide, wonderful motorways of human existence, exploring and serving in many diverse socio-economic conditions. Vishveshanandaji travelled to Britain in 1999 to teach for three years in Birmingham as part of a multi faith chaplaincy. During this time Swamiji counselled and taught amongst the most disadvantaged sector of the Tipton community with youth at risk, prisoners and mentally ill hospital residents apart from teaching Yoga and Self-knowledge to the youth at Sri Venkateswara Balaji Temple of the UK.

 

He has widely travelled the UK, France and Australia to deliver lectures on Self-knowledge and to conduct yoga classes/seminars.
